A Norwegian woman is racing to scale the top 14 mountains in the world

The goal of a Norwegian woman is to become the world’s quickest climber to reach the summit of the fourteen highest mountains in the globe. In just 40 days, Kristin Harila has already climbed eight of them. The 37-year-old revealed on Tuesday that she had decided to give herself three months to complete all 14 peaks. That is twice as quick as her original objective. More than 8,000 meters separate the top 14 mountains. Harila is attempting to surpass the record from 2019 set by a man climber who completed all 14 summits in less than two years.

“If we work on Manaslu now and the five in Pakistan, we can finish in three months, I think we can,” Harila remarked. “We are thrilled to have produced eight children, and we are all safe and doing well,” she continued. In April, Harila started her endeavor by scaling China’s Mount Shishapangma. She went on to scale several summits in China and Nepal, including Everest. On June 5, she completed a climb of Mount Annapurna in Nepal. She made an exceptionally late ascent of Annapurna during the spring climbing season. By now, most teams had departed from the highlands. This is because it was almost time for the summer rains and snow to arrive.
