According to Scholaroo.com, a website dedicated to scholarship research, Minnesota has the second-highest level of education in the nation. According to a Scholaroo official who spoke with VOA Learning English, a large portion of the state’s population holds advanced degrees. Overall, it is ranked slightly behind Massachusetts and above Connecticut. According to Schoolaroo, the percentage of people in the state who hold doctorates is the highest. The best academic programs are in law, medicine, and education.
We conducted interviews with college advocates and students to find out why they believe Minnesota is a great area to pursue higher education. Akhil Kollengode attends the University of Minnesota-Rochester as an undergraduate. He is enrolled in a new program that waives the typical four years of study and offers an undergraduate degree in two and a half. He is enrolled in a health sciences program. It is a medical administration platform known as NXT GEN MED. He intends to transition from his studies to a job at the renowned Rochester hospital, the Mayo Clinic, which is located nearby.
He remarked, “It is a major reason I decided to stay in Minnesota.” Kollengode is a second-year college student. He claimed that he and his classmates witnessed how their elder colleagues’ in-person college experiences were somewhat diminished by the COVID-19 pandemic. “We felt a little more motivated because we realized how much it could be taken for granted,” the speaker stated. In addition, he desired to pursue a career in medicine after seeing his parents’ example. Many young people in Minnesota, according to Kollengode, believe that going away is the only way to achieve their dreams.
