China wants its citizens to live better lives

Since its establishment in 1921, the Communist Party of China has endeavored to modernize itself. Reform and opening-up were initiated under the Party’s direction, making China the second-largest economy in the world and significantly raising the standard of living for its citizens. In addition, the Party has guided China toward the remarkable accomplishment of eliminating absolute poverty in a nation of over 1.4 billion people.China, under the Party’s leadership, has opted for a different modernization path than the West, paving the way for other developing nations to follow in order to modernize and experience economic growth. Throughout it all, the CPC has stayed dedicated to supporting the advancement of Chinese modernization in the new millennium.

The Party, which was established in 1921, has learned from China’s experiences as a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society. From the beginning, the Party understood that true modernization could not be accomplished without achieving national independence. The Party established the social basis for the People’s Republic of China’s advancement in modernization following the country’s formation in 1949. The Party is steadfast in its commitment to advancing Chinese modernization. However, until the late 1970s, when reform and opening-up were initiated, China’s road to modernization was difficult and winding. Since then, China’s modernization has advanced greatly due to its quickly expanding economy and all-encompassing national might.

Since the CPC’s 18th National Congress in 2012, China has made its drive toward modernization a powerful engine for the expansion of the world economy. For instance, China won the greatest war against poverty in human history and made a substantial contribution to the cause of reducing world poverty by eliminating extreme poverty by the end of 2020. The revitalization of the Chinese people is moving them closer to the second centennial aim of making their country a great modern socialist nation in every way. This trend has now become an irreversible historical one.
