Prince Michael of Kent’s son-in-law Thomas Kingston passed away at the age of 45

Buckingham Palace reported on Tuesday that Thomas Kingston, the financier spouse of Lady Gabriella Kingston, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 45. In 2019, Kingston wed into the most illustrious family in Britain, exchanging vows in a grandiose ceremony at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Chapel with Lady Gabriella. The daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Lady Gabriella, 42, is 56th in line for the British throne. On Tuesday, she honored her “beloved husband” with a family statement, describing him as “an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him.”


“His death has come as a great shock to the whole family,” she continued. After learning of the financier’s passing, Buckingham Palace stated that King Charles III and Queen Camilla “join Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and all those who knew him in grieving a much-loved member of the family.” A spokesman for the palace stated, “Their Majesties send their most heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and to all the Kingston family.” On Sunday, emergency personnel were called to a Gloucestershire property where Kingston was discovered dead just after 6 p.m. (1 p.m. ET).


CNN sources that while an inquest is anticipated to ascertain the cause of death, no suspicious circumstances or other parties are thought to be involved. The King’s second cousin, Lady Gabriella, is not employed by the royal family. Prior to the news of Kingston’s passing on Tuesday, her parents, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, had joined other members of the British royal family at a memorial service for the late King Constantine II of Greece. According to the UK’s PA Media news agency, Lady Gabriella’s godfather was Constantine, who passed away in January of last year.
